The best camera that you have is the one that you have on you.
I can’t remember who said that or if that’s even the exact quote. But if you’re reading this, hats off to you.
I believe that a great, effective photo is entirely up to you and your imagination. Composing your shot, gauging the light, timing it correctly; it’s all YOU. The camera only captures it.
Here are a couple shots that I’ve captured with my phone (iPhone 5s) in the last couple of weeks. I scrolled through my photo album and realized I have quite a few gems hidden away in there that deserve to be seen. There will be more to come..
Who couldn’t use a spot like this? Safe, serene and secluded.
Film ain’t dead
Just welcomed this flea-market find to the family. Many treasures are to be discovered at flea markets, this is definitely one of them. An immaculate body, carrying case, 2 lenses, UV filter, original strap, power winder and even a brand new roll of film for a grand total of $55. Can’t get much better than that. I can’t wait to dive deeper into the film game.
Getting out and embracing the nature does wonders for the mind and body. Fresh air, beautiful scenery, and a great sense of serenity. Just a couple days away from your everyday grind can serve as a type of biological reset button for the mind and body. Feels amazing! Show Mother Nature some love and she’ll give it right back.
A few shots from my trip to Washington State last week. I spent most of the trip camping in Millersylvania, right outside of Olympia, but was able to make a quick trip to Seattle to get some city shots in. Ironically, I got ZERO pictures of the Spaceneedle… Oh well, gives me a reason to go back soon.
Living in Washington as a child, I never really took time to appreciate how beautiful the state was. Felt good going back and taking it all in.
Did I mention you can now walk down the street with a fully-lit blunt in your mouth in Washington? Reason number 2 on my list of why I love the Pacific Northwest
As a young aspiring photographer, the best advice for ANY shooter on ANY level is…
JUST KEEP SHOOTING
I’m moving this month and I must say, I’m going miss this view. Only moving to the next city over, but being able to look out through the window and see my city was very comforting. Oh well, bigger and better things coming soon.
The dark side of the light
Doors are everywhere, all shapes and sizes. Don’t leave any of them unopened.
